·      Description :

A post-doctoral position is available in the group of Valérie Allamand, Ph.D., to characterize the muscle phenotype and evaluate therapeutic approaches in a novel animal model for Collagen type VI-related myopathies.

The position will be available for 1 year, renewable.

The approaches used consist of classical histology techniques, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology, biochemistry. Therapeutic strategies will be evaluated in vivo in skeletal muscle and ex vivo in cultured cells.

Unit 974 “Therapies of the disorders of striated muscle” is part of the Myology Institute, located within Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital . The laboratory is affiliated to Pierre & Marie Curie Paris University (Paris 6, UPMC) and CNRS, and offers a highly interactive and international research environment with state-of-the-art core facilities.

·        Qualifications: Candidates should have a PhD in physiology or biology and previous post-doctoral experience in muscle physiology and/or mouse models, as well as a good background in standard cellular biology techniques.
