This training grant is intended for a clinically qualified person, preferably in training in Neurology, Paediatric Neurology or Genetics, with an interest in research.  A competitive clinical salary and research costs are included.

TREAT-NMD will soon be advertising a four year post funded by the Wellcome Trust which is designed to allow the applicant to train in translational research as relating to neuromuscular diseases.

The programme has one year of teaching, leading to an Master of Research degree, including many excellent courses led by industrial colleagues. There is then the opportunity for a three year PhD working between Newcastle and the company PTC which has been at the forefront of drug development for DMD and also has a considerable pipeline for other neuromuscular diseases.

We are looking for high calibre trainees to apply for this post, which  really offers an excellent opening to someone with an eye to become one of the next generation of translational clinical academics in the neuromuscular field.
